Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use this website and when you hire Cutting Edge Tech for web design, web development, security or care plan services. Each project is also covered by a written quote or agreement, which sets out the price, scope and delivery dates. If the quote and these terms differ, the quote applies.

2. Quotes, prices and payment

• Prices are in South African rand (ZAR) and the total is confirmed in writing before work starts.
• A 50% deposit begins the work and the balance is due before we hand over the website and domain. We accept EFT.
• Quotes are valid for 30 days unless the quote says otherwise.
• Work outside the agreed scope is quoted before we do it.

3. Delivery times

Delivery times on our pricing page are estimates that begin once we have your deposit, your content and your sign-off on the design. They depend on you sending content and feedback on time. If we are waiting for you, the schedule moves by the same amount of time.

4. Changes and feedback

Each package includes a set number of rounds of changes. A round is one consolidated set of feedback. Further rounds or changes outside the agreed scope are quoted separately.

5. Your content

You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, the text, images, logos and other content you give us. You are responsible for that content, including any claims you make in it.

6. Ownership

After we receive full payment, you own the finished website and the domain registered for it. Until then, ownership remains with us. We may show the finished work in our portfolio unless you ask us in writing not to.

7. Care plans and monthly services

Care plans and the Growth plan are billed monthly in advance. You can cancel at any time with notice before your next billing date. We do not refund a month that has already started.

8. Security services

We test only systems that you own or have written permission to test. Before any security check, review or penetration test, you must sign an agreement that defines what we may test and when. We keep what we find confidential. A security service reduces risk, but we cannot promise that a system is free of all weaknesses.

9. What we cannot promise

We do not guarantee search engine rankings, a number of visitors, sales or enquiries. We do not guarantee that a website will run without interruption, because it depends on third parties such as hosting providers and domain registries.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit or lost business.

11. Privacy

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Questions can be sent to info@cuttingedgetech.co.za.
