Privacy Policy
How we handle your personal information, in plain language.
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Cutting Edge Tech (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit this website or contact us. The responsible party is Cutting Edge Tech, owned by Zwelihle Comet, who is also our information officer. You can reach us at info@cuttingedgetech.co.za.
We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. What we collect
- Information you give us: when you use the quote form, or call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your name, your phone number or email address, your type of business, the package you are interested in and anything you write in your message.
- Technical information: our hosting provider may log basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and working.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first.
3. How the quote form works
The form on our contact page does not store your details on our website. When you press Send on WhatsApp or Send by email, your message opens in WhatsApp or your email app, ready for you to send. Nothing reaches us until you press send there.
4. Why we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote or free mockup.
- To deliver and support the services you ask us to provide.
- To send invoices and keep the records the law requires.
- To protect our website and our clients from abuse.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your permission.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business, such as our email provider (Google), WhatsApp (Meta), and our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare). We may also share information where the law requires it. These providers may process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure the information stays protected, as POPIA requires.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and to work with you. Client and billing records are kept for as long as the law requires. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), protected accounts with two-step verification and limited access. No system is completely secure, and we will tell you and the Information Regulator if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct or delete information that is inaccurate or that we no longer need;
- stop using your information, or withdraw your consent, where we rely on it.
Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
